Urban Chestnut Around Town: September Edition

The weather is finally breaking and events around St. Louis are ramping up. Find Urban Chestnut in one of the following places in September.

Gateway Cup, 9/1-9/4, various locations: UCBC sponsors this annual Criterium Style, 4 day/4 location bike race in St. Louis. Various races take place in Lafayette Square, Francis Park, The Hill, and Benton Park. The Grove location will be hosting a special race after party on Sunday, 9/3 for racers and fans. We'll be open late that evening, so stop by!

Missouri Botanical Garden Japanese Festival, 9/2-9/4, Shaw: This annual festival runs all weekend at the beautiful Missouri Botanical Garden located in the Shaw neighborhood in St. Louis. UCBC's popular limited release beer, Konomi, will be available at the festival all weekend. Konomi was originally brewed in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Japan America Society of St. Louis. Urban Chestnut collaborated with Masumi Sake in Suwa, Japan (St. Louis’ sister city) to brew Konomi 好み, a Japanese Ale brewed with sake yeast. The Masumi Sake Brewery, operated by the Miyasaka family since 1662, discovered and isolated “Brewing Association Yeast Number Seven” the now widest used sake strain in the world, and sent Urban Chestnut their home yeast with which to brew the beer. Music at the Intersection, 9/9-9/10, Midtown: Urban Chestnut will be sponsoring this civic-led effort presented by Kranzberg Arts Foundation in partnership with Steward Family Foundation and The Regional Arts Commission (RAC) of St. Louis. First held in 2021, the festival tells the story of St. Louis’ musical, cultural and artistic heritage and gives a spotlight to national acts as well as St. Louis-based musicians across blues, jazz, soul, R&B, hip-hop, & rock and roll. Pop by the nearby Midtown location to grab a beer while you're at the festival!

Macklind Days, 9/30, Macklind Business District: UCBC sponsors this neighborhood fall festival on the last Saturday in September. Macklind will be closed between Devonshire and Nottingham for a day of live music, food and drink vendors, and a kid zone.
