Visit The U.R.B.
Located in St. Louis' Grove neighborhood, our third location, The U.R.B., houses a consumer research bar and a New York-style pizza counter. The U.R.B. opened in November 2016, and it is located directly across from our Grove Bierhall. Sample test batches of beer and provide feedback using our digital survey system accessed via any smart device. While you're at it, grab a slice (or whole pie) of our New York-style pizza featuring seasonal toppings on our naturally leavened pizza crust.

We're about to embark on an exciting, new adventure over at The U.R.B....where we will be testing, for the first time, Hard Seltzers!
That’s right, UCBC is jumping into the Seltzer game! It’s a whole new world for us though, and we need your help before we start playing in it. Not only do we need your assistance to dial in our recipes, we’re also looking for you to guide us in our naming process, and general marketing premise.
So, beginning today, please join us in our Hard Seltzer Development Process at The U.R.B. We’ve been working on the base recipe for a few months, now we will be testing three fruited variations of that recipe, along with name ideas, and other marketing concepts.
Visit us soon to participate in the complete development of an entirely new UCBC brand! On tap now through Mar. 8th!

What’s better than waking up to a warm, energizing cup of coffee or, ending your day with a refreshing, cold beer? How about the best of both worlds?
Cozy up with three distinct Coffee Beers that have been blended with fresh cold-brew coffee in our newest survey at The U.R.B. ☕🍺
Wednesday, Jan. 22nd
In honor of our upcoming anniversary festival we thought we'd treat you to a sneak peek of some of the brews we'll feature at Wolpertinger this Sunday, Jan. 26th! Here's the survey line up:
- Karmeliten Collaboration Pale Bock - a German/American hybrid brewed with Blue Corn (a collab with this year's special Guest Brewery, Karmeliten Brauerei)
- Hallertau Haze - a juicy, 'hazy' IPA dry-hopped with German Hallertau Hops
- Cherry Mercator - a new spin on our barrel-aged Flemish Red
...and there's more where that came from! Join us on Sunday to taste experimental and special beers from Urban Chestnut, The U.R.B., & over 50 STL-area breweries!
Wednesday, Jan. 8th
Experience the wide range of bottom-fermentation with three different Lagers: one is an ‘old’ classic, another is a recent award-winner, and another is a completely experimental recipe! Your feedback may just convince us which brew (or two!) gets to be a real live, UCBC bier!
Wednesday, Dec. 18th
Ready for something a little tart and refreshing heading into this holiday season? Up next is a trio of fruited Berliner Weisse Ales featuring our classic version of the style, Ku'damm. Ku'damm comes in at 4.2% ABV with just a touch of sourness and light, bready flavor. To keep things interesting, we've created three smaller batches of Ku'damm, each with a different fruit puree. Sample all three and let us know which one you like best...we might just brew a larger batch of the favorite again!
Wednesday, Dec. 4th
It's time to give yourself to the Dark Side with our Russian Imperial Stout survey. Russian Imperial Stouts (RIS) are full-bodied, strong beers (usually over 9% ABV). The style's depth and complexity of flavor lends itself to experimentation with additional ingredients when compared with other styles.
In this survey, you will sample our classic take on the style (aka Thrale's) along with two small-batch derivatives our Brewers have tinkered with. Give us your feedback on all three beers, and your journey to the Dark side will be complete.

We are pleased to once again feature three distinct beer & black tea blends in partnership with Firepot Nomadic Teas in our newest survey! Tea has become an interesting ingredient in the brewer's toolkit because it can add an herbal component to brews or create refreshing, unique beer cocktails.
Because of your overwhelmingly positive feedback from the first Firepot Tea Collaboration Survey, we decided to release our Nomadic Chai Stout in cans in partnership with our friends from Firepot! To celebrate this release, we thought it fitting to feature another collaboration survey. The samples you will evaluate were blended specifically to enhance and explore both the base beer and freshly brewed teas. Tell us what you think about the aroma and flavor of these three beer & tea blends:
‘Arnold Palmer’ Gose
’Earl Grey’ English Barleywine
’Masala Chai’ Milk Stout
